This role sits within our Retail Energy Division and English fluency is required.


Provision and Peak 6 Power & Gas are retail energy suppliers that serve electricity and natural gas to homes and small businesses in Ohio, Michigan, and California, USA, and are subsidiaries of CarbonBetter. We’re seeking a new Customer Account Specialist to join our sales team.

Position Overview

Our Sales Agents focus on retention and cross-selling efforts by interacting with existing customers to retain their services, as-well-as contact new customers and provide clean energy solutions. Tasks include making outbound sales calls to existing and new customers, responding to customer emails and text messages, tracking retention results, cross-selling to existing customers and taking accountability for all assigned leads.


Fluency in English is required for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Call all daily assigned customer leads and properly disposition each lead in our dialer system

  • Ensure each customer receives up to 6 phone calls during a 1-week cycle

  • Become familiar with sales scripts and procedures to retain customers

  • Become an expert in communicating the value of being our customer

  • Take clear notes during each customer interaction

  • Provide detailed instructions to customers to ensure their retention process is completed

  • Always attempt to cross-sell additional supply services (electricity or natural gas)

  • Review and track sales retention reports, and if required, reconnect with customers to ensure each retention is fully processed

  • Join sales meetings with the leadership team to provide feedback and opportunities to improve

  • Escalate questions and concerns when needed

  • Engage with teammates over Slack in a timely, clear, and consistent manner

About You

  • You speak English fluently and are able to hold conversations with native English speakers.

  • You are a good listener and able to empathize with customers.

  • You have previous experience in telemarketing (sales) and/or customer service.

  • You can take detailed notes based on customer interactions.

  • You are comfortable using a dialer system to engage customers and disposition interactions.

  • You are a team player who is unafraid of asking for help or helping others.

  • You can think outside the box and are adept at problem-solving.

  • You’re extremely patient and reliable.

  • You’re very comfortable learning new software and following detailed processes.

  • You’re confident using Google Workspace and Slack and can adapt to new software quickly.

  • Surpassing monthly retention targets (>2 per day)

  • Calling all daily and weekly leads assigned to you

  • Overall positive customer interactions and excellent sales skills

Requirements

  • Must have one (1) or more years of experience in telemarketing or call center-related sales roles

  • Must be able to follow specific and detailed instructions and processes

  • Must be able to sit at a computer Monday through Friday, between 9:00 am to 6:00 pm CT

  • Must have excellent English verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be comfortable learning new software, online tools, and processes

  • Must be patient, empathetic, and understanding even in the most challenging circumstances

  • Must be able to commute to our office, located in the El Poblado area of Medellín.
